UX/UI Design for Airport Navigation Brochure

Purpose

This is a 6-page brochure that can not only guide the aged visitors who don’t know Mandarin to complete each step before boarding at Taoxian airport in China but also meet their basic needs of communications.

Design
The environment and emergent situations are considered, so it provides some tips that are not related to the airport and boarding process but can enhance travelers’ experience even after they leave the airport.

WHO WILL NEED HELP AT THE AIRPORT

What will happen at the airport is some elderly people who are not familiar with electronic devices will have trouble taking a flight to the other country without knowing the main language there. Especially when they’re preparing for their return flight at the airport: No friends or family members around can help them.

TAKEAWAYS
The best form is the one that works.
Technology won't always be the best carrier of information.

Consistency is important
Consistency is the easiest yet the hardest way to help people digest information. During the process, we always ask ourselves if the difference is necessary. Set up a simple yet flexible standard is the most important thing.

UI can never stand alone, good UI is always a lot about UX
Some usability problems are just about the icon choice or the color, but they confuse users a lot and that makes the information difficult.
